Arrival & Schedule:

  • Please arrive by 7:45 AM on Day 1 for check-in

  • Class runs from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 PM on both the days

  • Optional Add-on CPR 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM ( On some courses only)

    • 5 minutes drive from the venue there are many grocery stores and food options

    • A cafe offering a variety of food and beverages is located inside the Visitor Center

  • Travel Directions:

    • The venue is a 30-45 min drive north of downtown Chicago and a 25-30 min drive northeast of O'Hare International Airport


  • Parking Lot 5 or 6 and QR code

    • 2 days before the course will provide a QR code that can be used by event attendees, granting them free admission to CBG and parking for the event. Park in lots 5 or 6 unless you require an accessible parking space in front of the building 


Continuing Education & Academic Credit

  • 1 credit University of Utah ($)

  • 0.5 credits Western Colorado University ($)


Course Approval: This course is recognized by the American Camp Association to meet specific ACA standards requiring certifications. The course meets the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid training requirements. Additionally, the Wilderness First Aid course (WILDMI-554) is approved by the United States Coast Guard to meet the first aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1)(ii) and 46 CFR 11.201(i)(2)(iiI) for a merchant mariner credential.


Optional add on CPR provided by Midwest Outdoor Skills Training

On select NOLS WFA courses, we offer the option to add an AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Certification, valid for 2 years. If available, this session will take place after class on Day 1, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, and the cost is $70. A separate payment link will be sent approximately 15 days prior to the course.

    The fees are WFA tuition only. Midwest Outdoor Skills Training and NOLS is not responsible for any travel, lodging, or personal expenses for this course. WFA Tuition fees does not include optional add-on CPR.
