Travel, Meals, and Lodging:

Meals and Lodging:

  • Meals packages are not available for this course. 5 minutes drive from the venue there are many food options. You are welcome to cook on property with a camp stove setup.

  • NEW! as of Feb/26/25 The venue has recently made a limited number lodging options available on the property. These accommodations are 5-10 mins walking distance from classroom, are basic, rustic-style apartments. Email midwestoutdoorskills@gmail.com if interested.

    • Private single room: $60 per night ( 6 units)

    • Two-bedroom unit: $85 per night ( 2 units)

    • Tent or van/car camping: $20 per night (campers will have access to one or two bathhouses)

  • Venue Info: The course will take place on the 120-acre property of JCC Summer Camp Chi, utilizing locations such as Perlstein Resort, the Health Center, and other designated areas for classroom sessions and practical simulations.

CME | CEU | Academic Credit
  • 48 hours of EMT Continuing Education Units by the Commission on Accreditation of Pre-Hospital Continuing Education (CAPCE)

  • 44 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits

  • Fellowship of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) credits through the Wilderness Medical Society

  • 4 college credits through the University of Utah and 1 college credit through Western Colorado University available with additional payment


Certifications
  • Epinephrine Auto-injector 
  • Upgrade an EMT to  WEMT Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician 
  • Wilderness First Responder

In person classes are taught from 8 to 5 pm daily with an hour for lunch at noon. Days 3 and 4 have evening sessions.
